Sharon Fisher - the Howell Opera House
We had the honor of having Sharon FIsher as our guest today, representing the Livingston County Arts Council and the Howell Opera House.  Filled with lots of information on the old Howell Opera House, she enlightened us with some of the history behind the building. Built in 1881, the three-story late Victorian style building was the center of entertainment for the community offering a variety of live shows, speeches, dinners, graduation ceremonies, plays, and many other leisure activities of the era.
The building was alive with entertainment for 45 years until sadly, it was closed in 1924 by the local fire marshal, not to be opened again until recently.
